Gottfried Helnwein Response pt.2

This viewpoint changes my interpretation quite a bit. I now realize that the man isn't even part of the piece, he was only a worker installing the piece. I now see a small, pale girl with messy, dirty blonde hair and big grey/green eyes. Her head is slightly tilted, I'm guessing to suggest a moment of confusion or understanding. Her expression seems to be neutral or emotionless but her eyes tell a complete different story. It's as if she's seen a whole different world or is looking into one. Her lips and skin seems to be a little dry which might indicate some type of suffering or helplessness. The way her eyes meet yours makes you feel as if she's asking or calling for your help. The size of this piece could affect the meaning because you may not notice all the small details in a smaller picture, but this lets you see all of them in detail. To me this looks like it is one giant piece of vinyl r material rolled down from the top of the building then applied to the wal...

Gottfried Helnwein Response pt.1

This photo shows a man repelling on the face of a woman, The man has no harness and only a single rope. The woman is showing no / neutral emotion. I believe this photo is a representation of artistic imagery seeing as this couldn't actually happen in real life. I think this painting means that meeting a new person is basically like climbing a mountain, You have no idea what you're really getting into until you're about a third of the way up. I believe the artist's intent with this was to place a sense of "smallness" in the viewers mind, maybe to humble the viewer. The image says to me that we are all just explorers trying to find a path that best suits us. The size difference between the man and the woman adds to my interpretation by giving ME that humbling sense of what could be if you let your imagination run free.

Lost In The World

The general premise of the video is that humans have basically lost their humanity. We sit on our phones all day, show no emotion, and have no care about true connection to others. People would rather force their opinions onto others than actually have a debate and listen to the other side of the conversation/ situation. This video is very effective in conveying its message, It pulls at the heart strings of the youth and makes very good connections to their culture. I believe this could be considered both a warning and an examination of our current situation because it shows a lot of what s actually going on in the world today but in a very dramatic way. But the sad truth is that we could come to the same conclusion as the people in the video.
